In-Person vs. Virtual Learning Options - What's the difference?

The in-person course emphasises hands-on learning, with time dedicated to practising techniques with fellow participants on day one and with mothers who have had a cesarean on day two. This format also allows for deeper connection and collaboration with other attendees. 

The virtual course is adapted for online learning, with approximately one hour devoted to technique review through demonstration and discussion. While there is no hands-on component, the course maintains the same clinical depth and framework. 

Virtual participants are also invited into a WhatsApp group mentorship space for two weeks following the course, offering ongoing support, integration, and opportunities to ask questions as they begin applying the material in practice.

Janelle Fontaine

Registered Massage Therapist

Janelle Fontaine is a Registered Massage Therapist based in Vancouver, BC, focusing her practice in women’s health, perinatal care, and cesarean recovery. With over sixteen years of clinical experience working primarily with postpartum clients, her practice is deeply informed by extensive continuing education in postpartum and scar recovery. In 2023, she launched The Cesarean Recovery Guide, an online resource supporting mothers healing from cesarean birth. In 2025, she founded Nurturing the Mother: Cesarean Massage and Rehab for Healthcare Professionals, a continuing education course designed to equip providers with the skills and confidence to support post-cesarean recovery. Janelle is passionate about improving cesarean recovery outcomes through both client care and professional education.
